The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum offers you a chance to be Operator for an Hour. This special opportunity is designed to provide the public as well as current PTM members the chance to operate a trolley.  Operator for an Hour is open to those 18 years of age and older.  Participants must possess a valid driver’s license, issued by the state in which they reside.

The cost of the session is $70; this includes a one year individual membership to the museum. For $90 a one year family membership will be included . A discounted rate of $30 is available for current regular or family members. Gift certificates are available!

Program availability is limited to five timeslots per scheduled day; sessions are available at 11:15 am, 12:15 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:15 pm and 4:15 pm. Participants must be on-site and check in at the Museum Store at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of their session.
Reservations are suggested; if slots are empty on a scheduled day, walk-ins will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Only the recipient/purchaser of the program will be permitted to operate the car – there will be no “splitting” or sharing.  Each session lasts 45 minutes. Two cars will be available each scheduled day – one hand control type and one foot control type. Requests for specific cars will be considered and accommodated if possible, but are subject to car availability and weather. Only currently operating passenger cars will be available in the program.
