The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is pleased to announce our “Operator for an Hour” program. The program is designed to provide the opportunity for visitors and current members to experience what it is like to operate a trolley on our demonstration railway.
The program is open to visitors 18 and older only. All participants must possess a valid driver’s license, issued by the state in which they reside.
The cost of the session is $70; this includes a one year individual membership to the museum. The individual membership may be upgraded to a one year family membership for an additional $20 at time of purchase, for a total cost of $90. A discounted rate of $30 is available for current regular or family members. Gift certificates are available!
Program availability is
limited to five timeslots per scheduled day; sessions are available at 11:15
am, 12:15 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:15 pm and 4:15 pm.
Participants must be on-site and
check in at the Museum Store at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time
of their session.
Reservations are suggested; if slots
are empty on a scheduled day, walk-ins will be accommodated on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Only the recipient/purchaser of the program will be permitted to operate the
car – there will be no “splitting” or sharing.
Each
session lasts 45 minutes.
Two cars will be available each scheduled day – one hand control type and one foot control type. Requests for specific cars will be considered and accommodated if possible, but are subject to car availability and weather. Only currently operating passenger cars will be available in the program.
For more information, or to make a reservation or purchase a gift certificate, please contact the Museum Store at 724-228-9256 during normal operating hours (Monday & Friday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday 11:00 am - 5:00 pm).
