Originally built as a freight car (similar to PRT F-22), Car 07 has enjoyed a long operating history. After the company's freight service ended in 1925, 07 was rebuilt into an overhead line car - one that allowed workers standing on a roof-mounted platform to replace or adjust the wire carrying the high-voltage electrical current needed to run the trolleys.
Car 07 remained in service, with the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company (Red Arrow Lines) and with successor SEPTA, into 1992, for a total of 81 years. We know of no other trolley vehicle on any other property that had that longevity!
